¿Por qué México se escribe con “X” y no con “J”?

En 1992 la RAE aceptó que México puede escribirse con “x” o “j”. Finalmente en 2011 la RAE recomendó el uso de la “x”, aunque aún falta que reconozca que éste es su uso correcto. Así que ya sabes, escribir “Méjico” es correcto a nivel institucional, sin embargo no honra la historia de una palabra, de una nación.
