Dr. James J. Horn, Ciudadano del Mundo y huésped distinguido en Cuernavaca

An excellent colleague and friend of Universidad internacional.
Dr. James J. Horn is Associate Professor Emeritus, History, State University of New York College at Brockport, where he taught history for thirty years and coordinated the SUNY Study-Abroad program in Cuernavaca Mexico including 25 semesters as resident director there until his retirement in 1998. During college vacations and after leaving academia, he coordinated 80 Road Scholar (Elderhostel) programs in Cuernavaca and he designed and escorted 66 private tours to 20 destinations in eight countries.
In addition to newspaper features, book reviews, and lectures, Dr. Horn has written numerous scholarly articles on U.S. – Mexican relations and the politics of health care in Latin America. He has lectured frequently on his specialties: Latin America in the 20th Century, U.S.-Latin American Relations, and the History of Mexico.
He is the author of Cuernavaca, A Guide for Students & Tourists (open that heading on the dashboard of this site). In 2012 he retired as President of Educational Travel Service, Inc. but he maintains an active interest in his specialties.
He resides in Cuernavaca where he has been honored for his academic and travel-related efforts:
