The Origin of the Christmas Punch The Christmas punch has its origin in ancient Persia, where the Persians consumed a drink called “Panj” made of brandy, palm wine, sugar, lemon, water, and tea.   Later, this custom moved to Spain and it was called “Punch”, which is prepared with sugar, pineapple juice, lemon juice, cola and lemon soda, peach juice, orange
